This aluminum pipe replaces the factory-installed plastic pipe. In vehicles with increased performance, the higher boost pressure can cause the original pipe to burst. In the worst-case scenario, this defect can lead to engine damage due to ingested fragments.
[This aluminum pipe replaces the factory-installed plastic pipe.] The aluminum charge pipe has a larger diameter (3 inches or 76 mm) compared to the original. It reduces air turbulence while simultaneously increasing airflow. This results in faster turbocharger response and higher maximum power output. No recalibration of the engine control unit (ECU) software is required. There is no risk of bursting, even at very high boost pressures. Furthermore, this charge pipe provides a good basis for retrofitting a water-methanol injection system, as a connection for the injector is already pre-installed. Installation is relatively simple, as this charge pipe is a plug-and-play replacement for the original part.
